  • @dennisastley of course thats what you'll say.

  • where can i get one

  • I don't claim to know electricity or be an electrical engineer, but i have one of these units on my home and I live in a 4 yr old home in Arizona. Once installed in June of 2010, and not making any changes to our regular consumption activities (no changes to thermostat and we do laundry at night) we realized a 21% savings in our bill for 3 straight months...just saying!

  • I noticed the meter at the Car Wash installation where the Power Factor dropped, however Kilowatts reading jumped from 660 to 1600. Not good considering that's what the power company uses bill usage. A capacitor adds additional load and if the device it's suppose to affect is not running all the time, it will end up increasing your bill.

Added capacitance to a switched curcuit like an air conditioner or furnace where the capacitor bank would also power off could help somewhat (10% maybe).

  • Reducing your KVA (apparent power) will not save you money...The utility companies measure your TRUE POWER (W). Power Factor correction only reduces the KVA....W = PF*VA EX: motor 1 = 1.2kw, 120v, PF of .7 without capacitor Equaling 14.2 A Motor 2 = 1.2kw, 120v, PF of .999 with capacitor equaling 11.1A!!! Wow a decrease in amperage but not your true power, in which we are billed for!!

  • it will work if the power factor is very low but if your power factor is 0.8 and above it's not that beneficial

  • This may save you money if you own a pool that runs on a 120v pump or if your house is an energy pig. these things do nothing for 220v loads. what know one is showing you is the draw while this thing is sitting idle it is about 3 amps the equivalent to a pair of energy star refrigerators with the doors left open. Works great on 120v motors if they ran all the time.

  • This will reduce current but not the energy measured by an electric meter. Meters on homes do not measure the inductive power drawn by a motor and therefore this will NOT save you money. I am an electric utility engineer and manager. Use your money to install efficient windows, insulation or CFL's. They will save you money.

  • none of this shit saves you money the companies mislead people to think they will so they can sell their products. They should be sued for misleading people!!!!

  • this item does nto work it is a scam
