Living Legend Donna Summer is no stranger to Rock & roll, In her teens she joined a Psychedelic-Rock-Band called "The Crow",named because Donna was the only black member of the group. At eighteen, Donna Gaines (Summer) left home and school to take up a major supporting role in the hippy Rock musical, "Hair". By 1979 Donna was the most successful female vocalist on the planet. Later, After Dance/disco music went underground in the 80's, Donna went back to her Rock roots and launched a hopeful but short lived Rock career in the early 1980s. She also won a Grammy Award for "Best Rock Song Female" and 2 other Rock nominations. The media poised her as the black Pat Benatar ... Donna is one of the most successful female hitmakers of the rock era. She paved the way for other female hitmakers like Madonna, Janet, Beyonce ect. Donna was also nominated for the 2008 Rock & Roll Hall of fame!...
