@Martificateur There went several tricks into this (i.e. mirv_fx_xtendvis 1 to view all players of the HLTV, especially in the wireframe scene (the wireframe is rendered externally in Blender)).

I used HLAE camera I/O i.e. to set-up a camera outside the level for the side view.

Another trick is that before the HLAE camera import starts I switched to walle's chase camera view, because that way rotating the view (moving the mouse) allows you to rotate the smoke sprites the way you want.
