did it fix the problem, did it resolve the tire issue and straighten up the wheels. I got 18000 on a new set of tires. i will replace these joints now before i spend 1400 on rubber, thanks vac.

the vehicle in your video obviously had more than it should resulting in bad components.so to all the BMW X5 owners. just because your rear wheels tip in with a slight noticable angle, Does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with it.you can limit the wear by taking out some of the neg, but you will lose some of the handling

Good find, thanks for sharing. There are probably thousands of X5's running around with shot balljoints, and their owners (me included up until now!) are just changing the rear tyres, whilst shrugging their shoulders and excepting the excessive wear as a 'design issue'.
