Thought I'd upload one more tune from my "Welcome Home" CD Release concert at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York...

Actually, it's two tunes! They are "The City Is Alive" and "Finale," the last two movements of my "Big Apple Suite." The suite describes 24 hours of life in New York, and the last two movements are about the busy streets of the Big Apple during the daytime (presumably after you've stayed up late the night before). You'll recognize a familiar little tune at the end...

The entire suite can be found on my "Welcome Home" album, which features Bobby Watson, Jeremy Pelt, Joris Teepe, Peter Retzlaff, John Funkhouser and Yoron Israel and was produced by Jonathan Wyner. The album is about the different places I've been in my life, from my organic farm in New Hampshire to New York City to Berklee College of Music in Boston (where I go now).

This concert was with a special quartet featuring the legendary Bobby Watson on alto sax, who also plays on the album! It was nothing short of a great honor to work with Bobby and to play with him at this CD release concert.

I'm on the piano in this video; Bobby Watson is on alto sax, Joris Teepe is on bass, and Peter Retzlaff is on drums.

Recorded live 2/21/11
