Gustav Klimt lived his life like he painted it, full of intensity, sensuality and passion. As he lies on his deathbed, Klimt (John Malkovich) recalls his life, reflecting on his torrid affairs and his struggles for artistic freedom.

  • the trailer is a lot better than the movie, as good of an actor as Malkovich may be, the movie was poorly directed and had absolutely no plot.. very poor film. I like the painter himself much more than this movie.

  • @captainzerb Hm, sounds like every experience I've had with my friends when trying to watch "the unbearable lightness if being"...unbearable was the operative word. I still can't watch that movie all the way through. I love the Secessionist painters and am thrilled that Schiele was depicted in the film as he is a fascinating figure, so I will probably give it a try...
