Tony asked me "Nick which way are we going?" "tha-- just follow me"
We walked for awhile then Leah collapsed. "Nick?" I caught her as she fell. "Leah! please get up" Just as I said that I saw a bright light at the end of the tunnel. "come ahwwnn Leah please get up. Were at the end." She wouldnt get up. I help back my tears and carried her bridal style. There were fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars there. Once the saw us the ambulance people ran toward us, they took Leah away from me. A blonde haired man took me and brought me over to an ambulance. I saw the ambulance they took Leah to drive away. I tried to go after but they wouldnt let me. They took lots of test on me to try and help me then took me to the hospital. Once I got in the emergency room everything went black.
I slowly opend my eyes to see - no one. "Nurse?" I whispered. I looked around the room. So my guess was right. Im in the hospital. I searched for the button that called the nurse and pressed it. Soon she came over. "Is there anything that you need Mr?" As soon as she looked up at me she realized that I had waken up and went to go call the doctor. He came in not to much longer after that. "ahh Mr.Jonas I see you have waken up." He said as he walked thru the door. "yes sir, how long have I been out for?" I asked in reply. When he said "About a week." A week! How could it have bee n that long? "wheres Leah?" I asked. He flinched abit. "You mean Ms.Tyler?" Yeah thats her! "Yes sir." I said. my parents raised me with manors. "Im sorry but we think she has fallen into a coma." WHAT! how? this cant happen. not now. "How long do you think it'll be?" He looked down and said "Were not sure. It might be awhile. You should get some more rest." Rest! Get some rest! How should I get rest if ii've been out for one week? "I dont think I'm much tired." Before the doctor could respond the nurse came in "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but you have some visitors that want to see you." I couldnt even responded to that one. The doctor talked for me "Send them in."
As the doctor left I saw my parents, Jake, and Tony. The first words that came out of my mouth were "I'm sorry about your car dad." He nodded "It's okay. Don't worry about it." My mom came up to me and kissed my head. "Thank God your okay." She said as she kept kissing the top of my head. "Mom its okay, I'm still here you know." "yes and I dont want anything to happen to you." Jake and Tony were sitting down waiting for my parents to move out of the way. Tony asked me "Hey man. How you feeling?" I'm starting to rethink that rest the doctor told me. "Im fine, hey did you see Leah yet?" "n--" He started to say but I cut him off "Well I'm pretty tired right now. So do you guys mind if I take a nap?" Jake answered my question "It's okay." They Left and closed the door. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
The past few years have been really hard after the crash. I left the hospital a few days later and Leah never woke up. I went to the hospital everyday just to see her hoping shed wake up. I would go and tell her how much I love her. Every time she heard my voice shed move a little bit and I thought she'd finally woken up, but sadly she didnt. She spent her last 2 birthdays in he coma. We spent it together, well with her family to. But I'm praying that she wont have to spend another day like this. A vegetable. I got luck. I guess today was pretty good because my prayers came true.
Today is a day before my birthday. I'm driving up to the hospital to see Leah. I barked my new Hummer in the parking lot, walked into the building and signed in. I had a bouquet of flowers in my hand. I went in to the elevator then into her room. No one but Leah was in here so I guess her mom went to the bathroom. I walked over to Leah and kissed the top of her head then sat in the chair next to her. "Hey Leah. How are you today? My day got better when I saw you." As always I waited about ten to fifteen minutes incase anything happened. "I wanna let you know something Leah." I paused for a moment. "I love you." at that moment Leah moved abit and started to open her eyes abit. "Leah?" My eyes were stinging in tears. I havnt seen her awake in two years. I heard her say "Ni-- Nick?" A few tears rolled down. "Leah. Leah your up?" More tears rolled down. "Nicky? What happened?" She looked so confused. "So much has happened. But your nineteen now." She look confused, and scared. "Nine-- nineteen? where have I been?" She looks so cute. I havnt seen those pretty diamond blue eyes for two years. "You were in a coma. After the crash I didnt know what to do. You were here and all I did was come to see you." I saw her beautiful blue eyes start to water up. "Nicky, I love you." I chuckled abit to myself. "I havnt heard you say those words in years."
