RC Plane Emergency Dead Stick Landing

Flying heavy with my digital camera on the plane, the power suddenly died. What seemed like a long scary process of assessing the situation and working out how to save the plane actually only lasted 17 seconds

If I had been flying with my wireless video link and first person view I might have gone for the under-the-pier approach, but I was just working off line of sight and didn't think I could judge it well enough. I did fly under the pier under more controlled conditions in one of my other videos titled "Flying under pier and skimming rooftops:
