i was an AVID groovetech listener. weird how it just vanished. i'm glad i recorded some of the sets i did, complete with shout outs to moi! shh! dj's for life, precision cuts, lanwchair generals, curley's electro, black vinyl, haywire sessions! it was awesome watching the dj's webcast then getting some vinyl in the mail a week later with their names stamped on it. i'm still searching for the pieces and can't find jack. that's how i came this youtube. miss you groovetech where ever you are.

I have many groovetech mixes on MD and still regularly listen to them. It is such a shame that groovetech does not exist anymore.
Since years I am searching for the database. I cannot accept that it somehow should have evaporated into thin air. Somewhere should be someone that has gigs and gigs of great electronic music by some of the Top Djs of the late 90s and early 00s.
Also: I lost one of the best mixes: El Toro - Kitsch Mix
Anyone who has this CONTACT ME!!!!!!!

@ostokero Hi, did you also download the DJ sets by DJ Marques Wyatt, or Benji Candelario?

Orson Bramleys Perverted Science, Andy Weatherall's RGC, Sherman & Curleys Electrocuted were the best shows. I had a streambox app to convert realplayer to mp3 on my 56k modem. I bought a bought some vinyl from them but like you said no tracklists of shows and rarely sold what Djs played. Freddy Fresh gave me a shout out. I have one or two sets in iTunes, check out Intergalactic.fm replaced CBS, Dutch station.

@eternalvibe I have a Matrix drum and bass set I just found, just gotta put it to some video.
Groovetech was live at the peek of the music genres circa 97-99
I have this tape of 2x30 mins of non stop perfectly mixed DnB, that i captured from my soundcard. Alas the stream was via modem & a whole chunk of stream data was video .. so the sound is quite low fi .. but still listen-able!
The music is circa the time when FlyTronix had his album 'Archive' out. (1998) If only i knew someone who could help me identify the tracks on the tape.
I am in London & was tuned into Seatle.
Peace

I love everything that you're saying, and yes groovetech is def missed, I would love to be able to get ahold of there old mixes.
The only thing I dont want you to have the misconception about is that mellow/jazzy/liquid drum & bass DJ's were all inspired by Groovetech, because there has been tracks that have been porduced in the "liquid dnb" style as early as 1995 such as Pulp Fiction by Alec Reece, way before groovetech ever exsisted.
Great video though. Hopefully groovetech comes back.

definitely that style preceeded groovetech but i think the hospitial show & label had a LOT to do with it going to the next level...
