Golden Axe. The very name alone strikes a chord with the old school beat-'em-up and hack-n-slash crowd, especially when this hit the arcades WAY back during that same year. The only difference was that the North American release wasn't until August 14th. Quite ironically, the developers of this game stated that this game was actually inspired by the movie, Conan The Barbarian.
But before I take you through the perils of this game's Arcade Mode, I first challenge this game's Duel Mode, where it pits you against 12 waves of opponents in a survival atmosphere, meaning any damage you took from previous bouts remains that way until you either die or push hard enough to the end. Chances are, you're going to get pretty banged up along the way.
Hey, I also like using the dwarf. Out of all the characters, he's the best one in my opinion.

@ThatRedMageDude I suppose with his running attack that supposedly deals double the damage - not sure if this is a programming glitch or not, so don't quote me on it - I can see why.
