There should be an IQ test when you get your license, i don't believe talking on your cell phone is the cause of accidents, if you cant hold a conversation when driving you shouldn't be allowed to drive, i do think that texting is bad mix with driving. I have been driving Tow truck for 2 years and I have never seen or been to a accident because of the person on the phone.

I used to drive a tow truck, and I know how incredibly stupid people can be when driving - not paying attention, talking on a phone, etc. I think the penalty for inattentive driving should be the same as DUI. If your full attention is not on the road and the other cars around you, then you are driving impaired. Maybe a little jail time and losing their license will make the idiots think twice about doing stupid crap while they are driving.

if you see tow truck drivers on the side of the road helping someone please move over and give them the room they need ......one day you may need one of us to help you or your family off the road and if we keep getting hit and hurt we cant help you.... so please if you see a wrecker on the side of the road please move over.......

the problem is peopel are to worried about them selfs or to worried about others, they arren't worried enough about safety. look up "Cop Arrests Fire Fighter for Helping Injured Person" on you tube for another example of this

@Timsierramist dunno what he got sentenced to but he can get 25 to life. He was operating a commerical vehicle while under the influence of an illegal drug that ended in a fatality accident. I don't think it's right but CDL holders are held to a much higher standard than regular drivers.

u just started? b careful bro, plenty of my guys have been hit, thrown onto ems units, and pinned between wrecked vehicles and the wrecker, (never get between wrecker and vehicle!) so just keep ur eyes on approaching traffic and be safe out there. peace

My prayers go out to the survivors of this terrible accident. I myself have just started in the tow business and have already had a couple of close calls. Stupid drivers don't care that we are out there trying to help someone.
