  • Thanks! Mine went apparently went bad and like you said with "common sense" you don't need it. We never had them when I was young, and I need to do some repairs. Nice hat, aren't your ears cold?? Does it sometimes blow off?

  • my seat bracket vid is up if ya wanna check it out....

  • @CapeCodFarmer I'm really not making an attempt to argue, I just think the other side of this deserves to be out there. Because too often people do things they shouldn't because "they can". Other people end up getting hurt because of it. If you want to tell people how to bypass the safety devices on their machines you have the right to do so. But don't get your panties in a wad when someone comes along and points out how dangerous it is.

  • @CapeCodFarmer It's not a matter of being unreasonable. My experience has nothing to do with anything other than I'm sure I've seen a lot more. Not taking shots, just being real. Earlier this year in East Texas a 4 year old was killed due to a seat switch on a riding tractor being bypassed. Nobody planned for that to happen. It just makes sense to leave that stuff in place.

I agree we do differ in opinion on this. I'm making the argument for safety.

  • @Pinion512 Well my friend, be is as it may. We are at a difference of opinion, but this gives you no right whatsoever to take potshots or use the life experience card. Being informed has every bit to do with safety, as no machine exists that is completely safe. Don't like it? It's your opinion but it's unreasonable to go out broadcasting it to the world just because you choose to be meticulous with your tools. If you cant be reasonable, don't start a discussion with myself or anyone else again.

  • @CapeCodFarmer I am fully aware that the safety systems are far from perfect. I just find it irresponsible to put the information out here, disclaimer or not, for anyone to try and do. Being informed has nothing to do with safety. I can tell by your smart ass tone that you think you know it all so I'll just let the discussion go at that. When you get a few more years of life in maybe then you'll be sensible enough to have a reasonable discussion. good day.

  • The one issue is that others have problems with this equipment occasionally. Any mechanic you talk to will admit that the safety interlock system is far from perfect, and it takes little for something to go wrong with it. I realize that bypassing it is a safety issue if you are not informed, hence why there is a disclaimer to use caution at the end of the movie. If you are informed then you will be just as safe as if you were driving a car on the highway. I suggest you re-inform yourself..thanks

  • @Pinion512 If there is disclaimer and valid reasoning behind anything potentially dangerous, there is absolutely nothing to be complaining about. If you cared to watch the whole movie before forming a conclusion, you would know that I advise everyone watching this movie to use extreme caution as damage could potentially occur without using the safety equipment. So if you choose to keep yours enabled to be safe there is nothing wrong with that.

  • I just prefer for things to work as designed and in a safe manner. And I think it's terribly flippant to just go and put some information out there, blindly, that could potentially hurt people.

  • @CapeCodFarmer The numbers of people hurt, seriously maimed, or killed every year due to lack of safety equipment are not in your favor.

Not "needs" to have that stuff in place. But when you go and put information out there for anyone to see and do you are doing your part to ensure that someone else gets hurt. Someone that does need the safety measures.

It's not a matter of being scared, that's juvenile. I keep mine in place because there are kids around and I don't like things rigged.
