A truly inspiring video. I'm getting a dual sport motorcycle soon. I am looking at the 650 class because I'm about 6ft, 260lbs. Any advice from your motorcycle pals would be appreciated. Thank you for the video.
@pjppow171 Thank you for watching and for the comment, we really appreciate it. Dual Sport bikes are always a compromise, because they are both street and dirt. We have only been riding sanctioned events for about 3 years, but we have learned: Depending on how much $ you have you can go with a Euro exotic like KTM or Husqvarna. However the Japanese bikes are more reliable, and cheaper to maintain. We ride a Honda XR 650R & L. The R needs to be licensed and is kick start, but the L is legal...
@pjppow171 as is. My dad's is the 650L that is street legal. He has done some mods to make it lighter and better on trails. The problem with 650's is the weight, noticeable on down hills. Smaller bikes like the Suzuki DRZ400 are lighter and better on single track trails, but you are stuck on the slow lane on the freeways. Google the AMA District 37 Dual Sport website and go on the forum, those guys are veteran dual sport riders. Also, check out the site: Dualies dot com for great info :)
thanks for the PM. Great Stuff !!
