Tribute to Star Wars Galaxies Player Cities

I know other games have them, but Star Wars Galaxies did it best. They allowed players to build and maintain their own cities, made up of characters of many players. As a city you had access to facilities that were not available to people without cities, such as having your own shuttleport and other amenities. They were a great idea, and some of them still stand even after almost 3 years. This video was for the 2nd anniversary of the city implementation.

Please don't tell me that's how players cities are! I've been contemptplating on playing the game for years now but if that's what i'm going to see...

At the time I made this video some of the oldest cities were failing, but new cities are always springing up, and some of the very oldest cities still remained active (just sometimes hard to find) :)

Wow can suck it! I've played all of the major MMO's and SWG is by far the most enjoyable.

i remember a few years back i was mayor of a city somewhere (cant remember where) wasnt best city ever but the feeling that i was running a city was pretty awesome... then i went f*ckin bankrupt :P

I played SS and Bria my house shop and guild hall were all outside Mos Vegas on SS and my guild city was one of the oldest on the server I basically though of Mos Vegas as my home town on SS. when a Merchant tent went up a house went down it was a sad thing to see happen. I had a trader on SS but ultimatly failed I was also supporting a guild( not lead) I was doing a guild hall project when my trader went bankrupt

I'm and older player as well.. From Shadowfire

i found it strange that we also had a Trinity City .. and a Mos Vegas

both city's were major towns... Mos Vegas.. i remember the first time i saw it on the planetary map and thought.. hey.. cool name... then it became the Hub of Trade on the server about a year latter..

finally in my last days on the game... i saw Mos Vegas.. as a ghost town..

That sight alone was the most depressing thing i've seen on an MMO
