In our post-digital decade the speed of change of digital innovation is unprecedented.

How can we keep abreast of the tools and services effecting how we can view, select and interact with our entertainment?

What future trends are already manifesting?

What digital innovations are being developed that will change how we interact with the technology coming to our homes

Some of the most successful and influential thought-leaders in this space talk about how they see the landscape changing as we speak based on their experiences, knowledge and analysis in this market. This panel debate will paint a picture of the role of technology in transforming the media entertainment industry.




Speaker 1:
Kate Quilton
Multiplatform commissioning editor for documentaries
Channel 4

Kate Quilton is the multiplatform commissioner at Channel 4 for Documentaries and Specialist Factual. Starting out as a broadcast journalist, Kate worked at ITV and the BBC before heading to Channel 4. Kate's first job at the channel was to launch C4 on YouTube, Bebo and MSN. A specialist in social media, in recent years Kate has worked chiefly on interactive reality formats, namely Big Brother and Seven Days.

James Cashmore
Head of Media Entertainment
Google UK

James is responsible for developing communications and partner development strategies for Google's advertising offerings to Film, Broadcast, Music, Gaming and Gambling companies. James leads the Entertainment Industry Team who is responsible for building successful client agency and advertising partnerships with Google and was previously the Head of Technology, Industry Market Groups for Google. Prior to joining Google in 2004 James worked for Technology Content publishing companies, VNU and Ziff Davis.

Nick Jones
Director of Interactive Services
Central Office of Information

Nick Jones is director of interactive services at COI. Nick's team delivers digital projects for public sector clients working with 100 suppliers. Nick also contributes to government guidance and standards on social media and digital engagement. Prior to joining COI he contributed to digital policy at the Cabinet Office. A former Jupiter Research analyst he co-founded New Media Age in 1994. Nick graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in Geography.

Asad Rehman

Unilever

Asad leads Media Innovation globally for the Foods business at Unilever. He has over 15 years of multi-market and multi-faceted media and communication experience spread across the holy trinity of the communication world- agencies, media and clients. Simply put, he likes making brands famous. His specialites are technology's role in brand communications, digital and new media, managing teams and businesses and multi-market, regional and global work.

Tiffany St James - Chair
Former Head of Public Participation, UK Government - Director of Stimulation Ltd

Tiffany is a digital strategist, trainer and international speaker, advising government and industry on greater digital competency. She aligns corporate objectives, people skills and evolving technology to embed practical digital strategy for impactful change and growth.

She is the former Head of Public Participation for the UK Government, advising the government on how to get better at engaging with the public online and data.gov.uk the UK Government's data repository and the largest in the world, working with Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the Web, and Professor Nigel Shadbolt, Head of Artificial Intelligence in the UK.

Tiffany is retained by The Guardian and Microsoft for Open Data intelligence, consults EURO RSCG for how evolving digital practice is changing the advertising industry, and digital trainer for Channel 4 and the Marketing Agencies Association.
