As of 2011 Tennessee has the 3rd highest sales tax on food in the country with 26 states that don't have a tax on food at all. In 2008 TFT was instrumental in creating a tax swap that allowed for the food tax to be dropped by 1/2% this 1/2 percent allowed for Tennessee to drop from the highest tax on food to the third highest. The fight goes on.
