And Rachel misses the point by miles. By 'building' Mr. Buchanan meant setting the framework for our Republic and getting in place our government. Not who built what building. There were plenty of Blacks fighting in the civil war, not however in Gettysburg. And while 1.2 million blacks served in WWII only 708 died in combat and there was only 1 black battalion on the beaches of Normandy. Which means most of the people who died in Normandy were white.
