Max Borders discusses his essay on the "regulatory state" from the book New Threats to Freedom. Why can't we buy things like delicious BBQ sauce straight from Mom & Pop vendors at the farmers' market? Do we really need government agencies shutting down cornerside lemonade stands that lack the proper business licenses? How can we balance business interests with public safety? Why are we so quick to call for government bans, regulations, and controls? Why, as farmer-activist Joel Salatin puts it, is it that "Everything I Want to do is Illegal"?

  • I find it disconcerting that "single women" is one of the terms highlighted as a threat to freedom in the graphic at the beginning.

Haha! I thought I was the only one! It bugs me a little... and reminds me one of someone.

But I can't listen without wanting to see the speaker's face. ugh.

  • black market bbq... dibs!

  • Butt chin . . . .

  • This video did not talk about the topic which was "New Threat To Freedom" so what does watery sauce has to do with freedom. He is talking about single women and welfare check. If single women need assistance then go and get it.

  • I watched the whole thing, I should have just judged the book by its cover. I should have the freedom to peddle potentially (and purposefully) harmful chemicals and pass them off as completely harmless. THIS IS NOT AMERICA. @"Max Borders" herpaderp

  • @littleredvolvo Yeah because, you know, old ladies who trade canned vegetables, in kind, in church basements are dropping like flies.
