cat with lame leg part 2

my cat dot is 14. She started have a slight drag to her back leg a few years ago, but this past year it has become significantly worse. My husband and I notice her head twitching a lot. Dot has also lost fur in spots on her back, and the fur grew back white. She pees out of her box by the doors, or on anything left on the floor. Her vet said she had renal failure, but she did not run any test. The vet basically suggested "the humane treatment". Dot seems happy, she eats and drinks, but she has gradually lost weight. She has lost a pound each year the last 2 years. Dot spends most of her day laying in the window, or in the sun on the patio. She does not do much else. Has anyone else had a kitty like this?

Thank you for your comment. Sadly, Dot passed this passed Friday, Nov. 12. I loved her dearly and shared 12 wonderful years with her. I am grateful that she had one last summer basking in the sun.

Take her to a better vet that will actually do tests
