(my first attempt at a video on Youtube, to be re-uploaded in High Quality with addition of 10 to 1 positions - coming soon)
The chart rundown from TOTP dated 28th November 1985. Hosted by Peter Powell and Dixie Peach. Note the snazzy BBC rock version of Phil Lynotts Yellow Pearl.

  • not a xfactor shitty cover version in sight

  • Great posting! I used to love the charts on TOTP, and seeing the pictures of the groups they used. I guess it was too hard getting a picture of Artists United Against Aparteid, so a record sleeve had to do!

Any chance of seeing the Top 10 from this episode too?

  • OMG! "West End Girls" was in at number 40... on the way to eventually being number one in January 1986! Biased Pet Shop Boys fan and proud of it! :D

  • this brings back great memories!! not like the shit reality stuff today

  • The(fi)X Factor has ruind the uk pop industury in the 80s there was proper stuff as with the 60s the 70s & 90s

  • What an astonishing videoi. Isn't it great how such established songs like West End Girls would enter really low down the charts and climb their way up?

  • I was 9 days old when this was broadcast lol

  • great stuff but sadly A-ha are now another band who are splitting up

  • LOL, I'd forgotten about a lot of those artists!

  • King! Ha - I'd forgotten about them. They were truly truly awful.

Dig the BBC rock version of Phil Lynott's "Yellow Pearl" for the theme.

  • When music was music...god i'm shedding tears that music is now so dire and bland.....bring back quality, bring back 80s!
