Perfect for my fire escape and for this project. Using recycled materials, so it’s inexpensive and efficient. They are also easy to make. * Tools and materials 2L soda bottle * Duct tape * Razor * Hole puncher * Thick twine or thin rope

# Instructions on how to make an upside vegetable planter Use razor to cut off bottom third or so of soda bottle.
# Wrap duct tape around the bottom part of the soda bottle. Make sure that half of the duct tape is on the bottle and half is above it.
# Cut slits about 2-3″ apart in the duct tape and fold over.
# Punch two holes about halfway down the duct tape. Cut two more on the opposite side.
# Cut string and thread through two of the holes form the outside in. Do the same on the other side.
# Drill a hole in the cap of the soda bottle and put back on the soda bottle. This will allow for drainage.

  • This is so nifty, when I saw it this morning, I went to Home Despot for duct tape, twine and a razor. My 7 yr old son is going to help me make a couple of these planters for our back yard. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Way cool. I'm going to give that a try this year. Thanks!

  • @9aspengold5 Yes if it's only just one. I think this video is meant for serious urban dwellers who plan to eat mainly organic, home grown food. The costs add up when you've got over 50 plants going on.

  • @fluffywelshsheep Thanks for the tips.

  • you need to have a plant that likes to grown down wards , as most plant like to grow toward to light and route to the ground , try 'tumbling variaties of plants :)
