Grumpy Jii-san's been watching cartoons for way too long. After watching a classic old movie adaptation, he's ready to chat about it.
This time, the narration is shot within Palm Canyon in the Kofa Wildlife Refuge.

Jigger Pokey...lol! Anyway this is one of those titles from CPM I am on a quest to find. There's a lot of old CPM stuff I am DIEING to see, this is just one of them. However spending 40 dollors (or more) for a single dvd is not what I'd like to do...I am envious that you own this though...Perhaps one day I will too. Great review btw...

Ah yes, one of my all-time favorite anime movies. I watched this when I was about six or seven, and it both spooked and mezmorized me at the same time. That could be a kind of an Eastern quality of the movie: depicting the world of the dead in such a spiritual, almost positive way.

I never knew about an anime adaptation but I was aware of Miyazawa's book through a review of Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 which was greatly inspired by it.
