Islam & Mental Illness (Arabic with Subs.)

What deity would expect its creations to destroy, cause suffering, immense pain to one another in its name, yet disobey the pursuit of peace, respect, rational justice? What deity would construct our minds to have a system of logic and rationality in order to learn and progress as a species, but deny us the use of this structure and expect instead for us to defy it and follow ancient, inhumane (and consequently ungodly) law? A deity, perhaps, that deserves no respect, or even belief..

To speak of Islam and Christianity; the scriptures upon which they are both based are archaic, and understandably so much of it is obsolete. They apply to social structures, hierarchies, living conditions which simply do not exist any more. Why can those who believe the word of the prophets are sacred, accept that the same word applied to those who lived in a vastly different age? The world turns, yet we should be ignorant of the distance it has turned?

She seems like an intelligent, rational and compassionate woman. She is brave to protest against the violent extremes and ridiculous justification for them promoted by some followers of Islam, and I hope she and others with progressive outlooks open the minds of those indoctrinated from birth by religious rhetoric and political propaganda.

I agree with her to an extent. This is just rhetoric.
Has she ever read the bible? Deuteronomy, Leviticus, and Exodus are vile pieces of literature. Jesus was not a man of peace, he preached obedience and supplication. Mohammad was a narcissistic deranged lunatic, the Quran contains nothing but violence, hatred, suppression, lies, and delusions. I challenge someone to reply with me ONE peaceful verse from the Quran...I've looked but can't find any.

@nodaful do you see Christians stoning their women no but you see the muslims doing so to their women. There is no god, you're deluded. Nature is god, nature is the creator, not some psychotic supernatural malevolent tyrant depicted in the scriptures.

crimes in the name of Religion are criminals. West progressed when they
put aside the man made religion(Biblical
dogmas) and separated state from religion. Muslims should do the same!
The present day Muslims are following the man made religion, created many years after the prophet died. The original
Islam, as it saved in Quran is not followed
any more.
