Allow me to introduce you to Cathy Cruz Marerro, from Reading, PA. She was walking while texting, fell into a fountain at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, and has since gained 15 minutes of world wide recognition and fame. She has also decided to hire the services of Attorney James Polyak and, as she puts it, "Do what needs to be done".

Lets talk a bit about frivolous lawsuits, and how they are helping to cripple our economy.

  • I agree people should start using common sense more often, if I was walking and texting and fell into a fountain my opinion would be i deserved it for not watching where i was going. It's just common sense, you don't watch where you're going you're gonna hit something sooner or later.

  • the lady has an extensive criminal background... too many charges to put in one comment so i wont even try.

she wont win, the most money she's getting out of this is national news attention. who cares? lets all just have a laugh at her dumb ass

  • Humiliation? We wouldn't know who the fuck she was if she would have just shut her fucking mouth.

I wish I was on the judge for this one. I'd tell her she better enjoy the 15 seconds of fame and bleed it for every dime possible, because she aint getting shit from the mall.

And the worst part is... you KNOW she was texting while driving over there.

  • I hope she didn't drop any of her precious I.Q points in that fountain...

  • just watched the 14 min interview, first, it's her fault she fell in, glad she didnt get hurt, but she shouldn't be crying, and trying to sue anyone for her own incompetence.

  • I appreciate what you have to say on this video. its not just business that it hurts but many other areas within our culture have become so restrictive b/c we are so paranoid of lawsuits ! The solution is not to feed the fear b/c it is ridiculous and the chance of getting sued is very low.

It is interesting tho that this incident occurred in her place of employment and this vid was uploaded by her coworkers! I am curious to see what will happen going forward! (Workplace abuse issues?)
