owltalker Trio West Meets East featuring Scott on Hang drum. I was inspired to compose this a few years back upon reflection of time spent with Grandpa Grassropes out in Pine Ridge. He was sharing a story of how some Japanese tourists asked about participating in a sweat lodge. Grandpa agreed and asked them the Japanese words used for their spirits. He then used their language in the traditional inipi ceremony songs, noting we are all related-The photos are from our trip to visit daughter Maia who was living in Hiroshima at the time. I also added a Samisan track--kinda like a funky 3 stringed Japanese banjo-great fun to play. Owltalker
