SO, Dance of the Vampires in the books as the biggest flop in Boradway history. I persnonaly think it it was ahead of it's time. I think it would be embraced today with the mel Brooks and Monty Python goers.

Howerver it didn't last and we didn't even get the honor of a cast recording. This is a song from the Second Act. "Fur Sarah" as it is called in the orginal "Serious" version in Germany. I think the this song is a good example of how the show has many Up's to balance it's downs.

I Did the video at 3 am so I may not be perfect, but it's cool. I had a lot of fun singing this song.

Some Good Duets are coming soon so keep your eyes open!

ENJOY "FOR SARAH" From Dance of the Vampires

  • You need to see the German version. The full show is available with English subtitles on youtube. It's a great show, and hundreds of times better than the Broadway version.

  • i love this but i dissagree with your opinon i think the original german is much better than the funny but still YOU were amazing i trully loved it

  • Wow. I dont know what to say. First i thought you're just acting and the cd plays n the background... wow. Your great. (And a sweet Alfred. The role totally fits.)

But when the german version of the play still is way better (*g* I think you wont find much germans who say something diferent.)

  • @MrHerbertvonKrolock1 - No. Michael needed to be directed much more tightly, but he was hardly the worst thing about this musical. The flat direction was really a problem.

  • @kenny6446 - thank you. Carrie-The Musical and the straight Frankenstein play were far bigger bombs.

  • I've seen the German. It was awsome, but frankly I enjoyed the "funny" version much better. I've heard the "serious" version would have done better, but the "serious" Dracula musical also bombed and "LaStatt-The Musical" never even got out of previews. I think if they'd held down Crawford a little more, (Italian, really?) and stood by their guns a little, the show would have worked.

  • you´re right...the american version is bnoxious...i´m feeling so embaressed that i watched the whole broadway show :) ...you need to see the german version..extremly succsessfull and great...but your for sarah isn´t that bad :)

  • I just love this song

and i really liked the musical in belgium

    I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee your voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and btw my name is Sara :p

    xxxxx

  • I completely agree that this musical has been underdone, with Steinman's Vampires Rock making such a big hit the fans need to band together and demand a return of DOTV.

On a professional note your voice is amazing, you really make the most of your vocal range and your breath control is out of this world!

I am subscribing to you, NOW.

Are you doing anymore DOTV's? Or Frank Wildhorn, my favorite composer!

  • I'm sorry, but the acting was totally over the top.

  • I agree with you, I love the German version of this show.... and I wished they didn't change so much when they brought it to Broadway. If they just translated the lyrics and left it at that, perhaps it would've been more successful....... but I guess we'll never know :(

oh, and amazing job btw haha you're excellent.

  • Ah I love that song in English, I only knew it in German before, because it's one of the most popular musicals over here.
