@DavidTheCatholic I doubt it. In boxing you can bend over, clinch and lie down to avoid the fight. Add more techniques, and a taller fighter gets more options. In kickboxing for instance, nobody ever bends over like Hayes did on many on occasion to hide from Valuev's power, because it's an open invitation to perform either a kick to the head or a knee strike.
Check Sem Schilt for example. He's only lost on points once because he's perfected countermeasures against what smaller fighters do.

i really like nikolai valuev, he seems to have a good character..but his shadow in 0:40 reminds me of shrek :-D
