The banks aren't the only ones looking at insolvency.

  • If Obama was a true Socialist (for the people), he'd take the tarp money and distribute it to every tax paying American citizen making less than a million dollars. It'd be about 400,000 $ for every worker over 18. Now that's true socialism~

  • Obama, like Bush before him, is a true socialist. Just as all things exist in degrees, we find no exception with styles of government. As we approach the left, we find more government and as we move to the right, less.

Thus, given the ballooning size of government, we are clearly moving to the left, and towards socialism. Whether we are as socialist as you would like is irrelevant. Government nationalization of industry, and vast social spending projects smack of socialism.

  • whether we are a socialist as I would like is irrelevant?? My friend, offer 400,000$ cash to any working Ameridan(cost of the first tarp bill) and tell them they must consider themselves Socialists after accepting that money..... How quickly would this country embrace Socialism?? That's not irrelevant at all, it's a fact money talks. Give the money straight to the working and middle classes... it's their money. F the banks and wall street.

  • Giving $400,000.00 to every American, would be preferable to throwing money into a debt hole of bank debt and derivatives, from which there can be no returns yes, but have you considered what that would do to the cost of bread?

What needs to happen is that the government needs to start cutting - cut the interest groups, stop funding the feminists and tree hugger colaitions, pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

I agree, the money belongs to Americans, not to greedy bankers, OR politicians.

  • We just had to loan the fdic with 500 billion rom the federal government. People need to tried for treason. Seriously people need to be fucking hung now.

SO WE ARE GIVING THE BANKS MONEY TO MAKE SURE WHEN THE BANKS FAIL WE GET OUR MONEY THAT THEY LOST. IT'S A FUCKING HUSTLE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

  • most govts are a form of an oligarchy. i have a vid on it in my favs.maybe u can find it. gl.

  • sorry, i took the blue pill. im not quite sure waht this malarky is about. bacck to boobtube for american idol and oz...

  • It JUST dawned on me - isn't stupid/counterintuitive to insist on buying ANYthing if the prices increase on the way to the point of a bubble?

  • Actually some (a great amount of that) of that money is owned by creditor nations that invested in the USA as opposed to themselves.

If this socialism continues, we may be confronted with the interesting scenario of China, Middle East and EU sending in the debt collectors for the trillions +interest the USA owes.

  • "who can control billions of people under 1 orderly form of rule".

1st I would ask why in the hell anyone would want that, unless of course they were part of the ruling class? Such a system would devastate & impoverish humanity physically & spiritually. Our creative spirit would be crushed under the weight of government, & its potential forever lost.

In truth, no one could manage such a system, & so, such towers, flawed from their foundation, inevitably fall, albeit w/ plenty of bloodshed 1st.

  • Socialism, fascism & communism. OK let's explain the relationship:

Socialism is a precursor to communism, but, since adherents believe that true communism has never been achieved, socialism really becomes defacto communism - utopia is a fraud.

Over time, as proven by the USSR - Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, & the National Socialist German Workers party (NAZIS) for ex., socialists become fascists, imprisoning & killing critics at will; an inevitable consequence of centralized power.

  • seems your definition of socialism resembles another "ism".... Fascism.

the greater issue seems to be one of "who can control billions of people under 1 orderly form of rule?".
