The greatest moment at the Oakland Coliseum is Rickey Henderson's 939th career stolen base.
Here's the speech he made after accomplishing the feat:
It took a long time, huh? (Pause for cheers.) First of all, I would like to thank God forgiving me the opportunity. I want to thank the Haas family, the Oakland organization, the city of Oakland, and all of you beautiful fans for supporting me. (Pauses for cheers.) Most of all, I'd like to thank my mom, my friends and loved ones for their support. I want to give my appreciation for Tom Trebelhorn and the late Billy Martin. Billy was a great manager. He was a great friend to me. I love you, Billy. I wish you were here. (Pauses for cheers.) Lou Brock was the symbol of great base-stealing. But today, I'm the greatest of all-time. Thank you.

Henderson got some criticism for being arrogant and selfish for what he said at the end of the speech, but what not everyone knows is, Brock had no problem with him saying that and he even helped Henderson write the speech.
Honorable mention:
1972 World Series game 4
Mike Warren's no-hitter
1987 All-Star Game
Nolan Ryan's 6th no-hitter
1990 World Series game 4
Bob Milacki 4-man no-hitter
1992 ALCS game 4
2001 A.L.D.S. game 3
A's 20th consecutive win in '02
2002 A.L.D.S. game 5
2003 A.L.D.S. game 5

  • How can you honourably mention the '92 ALCS, you lost if you can't remember. You should never honourably mention something in which you lost, no one wants to remember losing. Go Jays.

  • @aporchmonkey The choices I list are for the most memorable overall baseball moments for each ballpark, not just great moments for the home team.

  • appreciate the rickey desire...but the read is lame....and i can tell it was not a fan of the live game of rickey

    you ever seen rickey live???

  • I've been a fan of Rickey Henderson for a long time and I've seen him play in person. He was definitely one of the best players I saw play the game.

I will admit that my delivery could use some work.

  • I wouldn't know. Sorry.
