I have no clue why don't you ask the manufacturers, they've been doing it for 50 years now. It's obviously fly wheel hp not rear wheel hp

Engine hp on an engine dyno would be 505hp++ for this car. Rear wheel HP is 472HP measured on dyno rollers by the rear wheel dyno machine. They are 2 totally different measurments

@timmmmkay It does. I don't know whether you are being difficult or just dense. Why would a manufacturer rate what the engine makes after going through the drivetrain? It just doesn't make sense. It's too inconsistent. A manufacturer will do most of it's initial engine R&D on an engine dyno, whether it be an aircraft engine, a marine engine, or a damn locomotive engine. Chassis dynos exist purely because it's too impractical for aftermarket companies to use engine dynos.

The differential, tranny. (all the hardware between the engine and where the rubber meets the road) HP is lost between the flywheel and assfault.. In the case of the Z06, on average it's about a 50hp loss.
