  • @fyadcorp Who gives a damn anyways. :D I love Anime! It's Art! How could I not like it >:D That doesn't mean I'l dedicate all my time to it. People who are Otaku also do other things! Why not do both? :)

  • @jodelle6 Otaku basically means hobbyist. But in most parts of the world, otaku is what describes a person who loves anime and manga and/or celebrities. Unlike the person who told you that otakus have no life, I won't tell you so because not all otakus have no life. Unless that person is a shut-in, who does nothing but stalk celebrities, and does not socialize, that is a very extreme otaku.

  • Btw guys, don't worry you probably are not otaku even if you think you are. It's normal to watch anime.

  • I had a meeting awhile back with some of Mitsubishi's parts procurement team (state side) and they hadn't expected that I could speak Japanese (albeit not fluently) and asked if I learned in school. I told them I was self taught and they were a little surprised of course the next question was "do you like a lot of manga?" as politely as I could I told them no I didn't really care for it (at the time I thought I might offend by saying no) . Now I wonder if they were seeing if I was otaku or not.

  • The guy at 3 minutes about has pretty good english.

  • Japanese girls are so unbelievably sweet

  • @DrownedBeliefs

"otaku" has come to describe those kinds of people, and the honorific doesn't really matter anymore. people call themselves "otaku" and "wota".

  • I had a friend in high school with obsessive-compulsive disorder and he told me that he memorized train schedules. Interesting.

  • ohhh so an otaku is a monomaniac

  • 2:45 that guy have pretty good english and give good answers.
