BerryBall - How to install your colored trackball in your BlackBerry

When replacing your BlackBerry trackball, make sure to put the new one in correctly. The trackball assembly has 2 sides with little plastic prongs that protrude...these go to the left and right, as opposed to up and down. The chrome outer ring has 3 clips on the underside. These clips must install in the 3,6 and 9 o'clock positions. There is no clip at the 12 o'clock position.

why would you do that lmfao btw i use to own a blackberry... back closer to when they first made them... i forgot the name of the software.. but theres a software download from somewere online you download it directly to the phone and it lets you change the color of the ball on the blackberry "blackberry already had 3 different color lights behind the ball" for this software i don't remember the details but yes it does work and you don't have to take your blackberry apart... lmao

The software that you are referring to is called "ColorPearl"...it does NOT work on most BlackBerry devices. I believe the original Pearl 8100 is the ONLY Berry ever made with multicolor LED lights. All others are lit by a white or clear LED. There is no software that will make a white LED show a color.

Also, the BerryBall shows a far brighter color than any other method. And the BerryBall is colored even when the LED is not lit...reducing or eliminating the common "dirty trackball" problem!

Yes, the BerryBall will work for the Bold. Obviously, the install is a bit different.

Thanks sooooo much for taking the time to make this video. My beloved Bberry is actign POSSESSED!!! i did exactly what you showed but it's still not letting the ball move around properly and is dropping calls every now and then. The problem started when I removed the ball and face to clean the phone. Thx in advance for you HELLLLLLP!!!! ;)
