The new LG Enlighten Android phone from Verizon runs on the latest version of Gingerbread and is a great upgrade for users not used to smartphones or the Android environment.

  • and that's my point with this phone, it doesn't throw them in the deep end immediately. it has all the necessary android features, but also a familiar style to ease them into owning a smartphone.

  • please save your money and actually buy a samsung galaxy s2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

these midgrade phones ore so slow compared to today's standards.

Verizon option is samsung galaxy nexus

  • @SGS2sprint yeah, I'm with you, but a lot of people can't handle or don't want to handle everything the AWESOME Galaxy II can do. Believe me, that's the phone I would recommend, but coming from a feature phone, this phone doesn't put them on a level they can't handle.

  • @tennisben24 i think "they" can handle it. the foundation of learning is through play?

as we mentor new users... the moment you stereotype a user in their capacity to learn new tech, the less chances or exposure this new learner is to be able to learn because we have low expectations from them to start with.If instead we set a higher goal, believing anyone has the potential to succeed. then their chances of success or to even accomplish above their own expectations of themselves bemuchgreater

  • @SGS2sprint I let my parents sink or swim with these things, but I also think this is what turns a few users away from Android. I've seen quite a few "upgrades" to the iPhone this weekend from Evos, and it's mostly because they say the Evo is too much for them to handle. I think it's a shame because Android opens up so much more for them to explore and learn, but, frankly, people don't want to put the effort into it. A learner needs a teacher, and not many people are patient enough to teach tech

  • Believe me, I spend hours trying to teach people basic functions of Android, widgets, battery monitoring, downloading apps, and it's still over many people's heads. It is a lot of info at once, but something people can figure out within an hour of owning the phone. People come in to Sprint without having moved their homescreens around since they bought the Evo. It's ridiculous. While stereotypes may be wrong, they are pretty accurate.

  • Respond to this video... But, I agree with you completely. I would spend the same amount of money on an Epic Touch or wait for the Galaxy Nexus by buying from Amazon or Wirefly as well. People just don't know these things so we've got to educate them!

  • @zaerox123 Hey- did you get the phone? Can you tell me if it's worth getting? I've had such bad phones in the past- my only fantastic one was the original Motorola RAZR from 2005 or whatever! It was my first and best phone! Is this a good phone? Thanks!

  • @Ackles4life yes u can

  • how the hec do u customize it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i want this phone so fuckin bad!

  • I'm planning on getting this phone, in 2 weeks! Can someone who has it already, tell me... with the voice recorder, can you set a recording as your ringtone?? I know you can simply download a ringtone app, but with that aside...

    Does anyone know???

  • Me and my wife are getting this phone tomorrow.. she loved it for the keyboard and such, me I could care less really as long as it has android and touchscreen...

And since this phone is now free.. yea.. I think for that price you can't really complain about this phone at all.

  • @tennisben24 "Believe me, I spend hours trying to teach people basic functions of Android, widgets, battery monitoring, downloading apps, and it's still over many people's heads." i believe u but u must understand what type of level of experience they are before you start teaching them.

hard to teach a person to run but can't even turn on their belly yet or even crawl jp

it takes time and they're stuck with the phone for 2 years therefore why not aim high.

baby steps and not to "flood" info.

  • @tennisben24 "While stereotypes may be wrong, they are pretty accurate." i agree stereotypes are accurate for being wrong. Have you heard of the word "flooding"? its a term used when too much info is being taught to developmentally disabled individuals...getting off topic, my point is to be have realistic goals for vanilla (feature phone backround) users. They are not expected to learn in few hrs or days but need 1 month of solid play and exposure before they can catch up.
