    Is

    Loss

    Reduction

    Is

    Gain

    Also, I suggest that you call it 1- (negative) or 1+ (positive) instead, because it gets confusing.

  • @LoveHDS It's implied by the lack of a prefix that would mean anything other than 1.

  • OIL RIG

    Oxidation is loss, reduction is gain, of electrons.

    To be honest the way you explained it, reduction is reduction of charge and there for oxidation state prevents me from even having to use OIL RIG.
