240hp Civic VS 700hp Ford GT

GT driver was heard boasting about 700hp. Civic driver claims 240hp. Race track is VIR in Virginia.

One guy is in a 20k car and it doesn't really matter if he wrecks it. The other is in a 170k Supercar, and a wipe out in it would hurt the wallet, because insurance doesn't pay if you wreck on a race track. So of course the GT driver will go easier on it.

well the ford gt must have not been far behind and when it was done looking at the civic it just passed right by, i think the gt was just out for fun and the guy in the civic was trying as hard as posable. just an opinion. i respect any well built car import or domestic. i just prefer domestic.

Like always, a poor person complains about a car costing too much, just because he cannot afford it. A GTR costs more because it's a better car. Is that too hard for you to grasp? Many people find a complete car that is world class from the start far more appealing than a cheap ugly little car that you have to dump money into to compete with real cars. And the only reason the ugly little car is popular is because it's light, not because it's appealing or great.

I didn't duck anything. Every point you think you have I address. And you think saving 20k a year is nothing? Saving....not making. That means after all your bills and expenses, 401k, Insurance, etc.....saving 20k a year is nothing? lol

No, most truck drivers are not self employed. Some are owner operators, but the vast majority are company drivers. And I only know about the guy because he was fends with my dad, and I had been to his house. My Dad was a Fleet Manager, and knew everything there was to know about truck driving.

@Curveball Honestly, you are such a try hard. You should bow out now as you can't even seem to follow the conversation properly. I mean look above to where you have taken it, trying so hard to find an area where you might know more than I. I can tell you that after paying 75k+ for a GTR and pumping another 30-40k into various performance mods a race team was able to best the HART Civic by 3 seconds...So at 3x the cost they got em by 3 seconds.

@Curveball First you site specifics. When I addressed them, you tried to duck out by showing "they this and that". You probably thought the amount of money you previously posted was a "WOW" number, but it wasn't when I broke it down to yearly. I mean 20k a year, that's poverty line, and he does have to pay the bills you spoke of. So where does your argument go now?

@Curveball You forget, most truck drivers are self employed. Even the ones that are employed by a company generally are not offered a 401K or profit sharing. Then to top it all off you gave very specific numbers on how much money the guy had, how much he spent and all his big ownerships, leaving very little wiggle room in the money. So one of us did do the math and it was not you. Even the amount you mentioned, if properly invested into IRAs and whatnot don't add up to enough.

Do you even know what FF means? Is a Porsche 911 an FF car? Is a Corvette? Is a Viper? Is an R35 GTR? So why are you bringing up FF records? That is irrelevant.
