Why are the orange silkworms different from the normal fat white silkworms?
-
this was very helpful because iam reading about silkworms in this funny book called project mulberry and i never saw silkworms before there so gross looking!!! and did you know that the silk that they make can be made into a clothing (dress shirt pants ect.) and the only way to make it in to that stuff isto kill them!! and to do that you boil them in hot water and you take out the silk and make stuff :) its sad but cool

Silkworms do not exist in the wild, they are totally domesticated : )

@SaeYoung I used to have silkworm pets and I moved them around while they were making their coccoon. They ended up going into the pupae phase without their coccoon so they just laid there on the box. I was a little kid so I didn't know better. I didn't get to see if they grew into moths or not. I don't think it would affect them though. The coccoon is probably only necessary in the wild to protect themselves. :)

What's up with that one that's half as long as the others and just has a black stump instead of an ass end.
