------------------------------------------------------
Mustang was once an independent kingdom, although closely tied by language and culture to Tibet. From the 15th century to the 17th century, its strategic location granted Mustang control over the trade between the Himalayas and India. At the end of the 18th century the kingdom was annexed by Nepal.

However, the monarchy ceased to exist as the Kingdom of Lo in Upper (northern) Mustang, with its capital at Lo Manthang on October 7, 2008, by order of the Government of Nepal. The last king (raja or gyelpo) was Jigme Palbar Bista (b. 1930), who traces his lineage back to Ame Pal, the warrior who is said to have founded the Buddhist kingdom in 1350...

  • Why the heck does the title read "The Lost Caves of TIBET? The defunct Kingdom of Mustang is an integral territory of a sovereign country of NEPAL. If you come across any Tibetan person and ask him if he is from Mustang, he might get offended for being associated with a "Mustange" or "Mustangi". The creator of the movie having traveled through scrutinizing security checkpoints in Mustang Nepal still put TIBET on the title. With that haven't they just achieved a new height of IGNORANCE?

  • KERA - Texas in the house!

  • good to see you here friend.

    take care

  • Really a great job...but the Title really disappoints, because

    1)Mustang is in Nepal.

2)If The content owner claims that in prehistoric period it was a free country only at the end of 18th century it was merged in Nepal, again the title makes no sense at all..

Ignorance is not an excuse..u need little more research on that.

  • Like the Anasazi in New Mexico, US of A, I wonder if water was much higher and thus the people lived in the cliffs, which only appear high up to us?

I'm totally speculating, but there's got to be an explanation why peoples thousands of miles apart and perhaps closer in time between them than to us, for the similarities?

  • Why the fuck the title says tibet if it is in nepal
