How nuclear reactions work and what this means for science and power! You HAVE to see the great demonstration of how a nuclear reaction works, using Ping Pong balls and mouse traps! Only Disney could come up with THIS! :-)
Rare Walt Disney Science series from 1957 describing the advent of the Nuclear Age. Dr. Heinz Haber, a noted scientist in the field of atomic energy, hosts this look at the possibility of an exciting new power source.
Remember to take this is in context of the times. Little was known of the problems in the future that would ensue, so its a very optimistic look, which was very much Disney himself. :-)

What bothers me is that they compare the fission process, which occurs in the sun, to the fusion process we utilize in nuclear power plants. Those are two very different things.
OMG, hope this is a case of your mistyping rather than bad science knowledge.
FISSION is the breaking of atoms, releasing energy. THIS is the process in ALL current nuclear power plants & A-bombs.
FUSION is the merging light atoms into heavier elements, producing energy. THIS is the process deep in the sun & in H-bombs. We have NO viable fusion power plant reactors at this time. Its been '20 years' away for 60 years now. Much harder than fission.

I hope you just got the words backwards. :-)
