does anyone have suggestions about when i try and oil paint i mess up with the layers and i try and do it the way i would with a pencil but can and im only a beginner and i started drawing like a month ago so yea im definately not that good but i can do fairly realistic work but could someone help me out with oil painting techniques or whatever?

You can try using Liquin to speed drying, this will help with your layers until you are more confident with the oils. Keep painting.
