Susun Weed makes stinging nettle leaf nourishing herbal infusion. Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) builds energy, strengthens the adrenals, and is said to restore youthful flexibility to blood vessels. A cup of nettle infusion contains 500 milligrams of calcium plus generous amounts of bone-building magnesium, potassium, silicon, boron, and zinc. It is also an excellent source of vitamins A, D, E, and K. For flexible bones, a healthy heart, thick hair, beautiful skin, and lots of energy, make friends with sister stinging nettle. It may make you feel so good you'll jump up and exercise.

An infusion is a large amount of herb brewed for a long time. Typically, one ounce by weight (about a cup by volume) of dried herb is placed in a quart jar which is then filled to the top with boiling water, tightly lidded and allowed to steep for 4-10 hours. http://herbshealing.com/How_to_make_Infusions.htm

  • can we use dried nettle or must it be fresh?

  • @Ganapathi6 Dried nettle is perfect for making infusions.

  • Once I've made the infusion... Do I drink it all in one sitting. Can it be stored? Refrigerated? Thank you

  • @Stanmanlook . You do not need to drink it all in one sitting....it can be sipped throughout the day if you like. It can be stored in the refrigerator.

  • Hi Susun, I am just drinking a delightful mix of red clover and nettle. I know you don't agree with soy "foods" (Neither do I, hate soy products) but I was wandering about phyto-oestrogens in say red clover, should it's consumption be limited? I know that the quantaty of phyto-oestrogens is just one of many, many problems with soy...

  • @22poopoo - Red clover is one of our mainstay herbs for infusions and used freely. Wonderful anti-cancer herb...

  • Wow! You are so beautiful! What a bright blessing to have stumbled upon your videos! Keep up your juicy light spreading! Namaste.

  • I love your vidoes. I'm trying to restore my weak adrenals and understand nettles to be of use. Currently I blend about 20 tips and boil it up then drink. Is this a good way and enough/too much? I'm interested in using the seeds aswell, but understand that this part is strong - any suggestions here? Thanks and blessings x

  • Susun, I have read Menopausal Years from back to front (and front to back) and the herb I've selected is stinging nettle to start with. I have an abundant, nearly year round, supply of tender nettle. I have poured over your comments about making the infusions and you indicate that dried nettle is to be used. Is there any disadvantage to using fresh nettle? I would prefer to use fresh while I have it and dry some for the end of summer, early fall. Thank you.

  • Thank you Susan for your recipe, I have been enjoying your book! My whole family loves Nettle tea, even my 7 year old!

  • Great video. How do you strain nettle in the morning. Do you use some compression to remove all moisture? Thanks.

  • But all people know is marijuana--it is too strong and posion and addiction for people. I saw many stores have the pipes around here. :)

  • Susun, in what quantities should this be consumed on a daily basis and how long will this infusion keep? I'm assuming storage in the fridge? I've been waiting for rains to bring some wild nettles, but no such luck here in Texas yet. I did order dried and it arrived yesterday. Just not sure how much to drink a day :) Also, would you think it would be OK to add it as some of the liquid in a smoothie, or added to a green juice? Thanks!!

  • @wisewomantradition Where does Susun live? We need to adopt her! My kid's need a grandma like this! <3

  • Thank you! I read that the effectiveness of Comfrey salve is severely reduced when heat is applied. I have multiple fractures Hips-Ribs-Ankles and would like to use Salve then heast sauna or bed for penetration. Good Idea? How often should I apply salve(how many times daily) How long a period (Month or more?) Is a Poultice a better option? Thank you for your informative video!!
