Mega Man 9: Dr. Wily's Castle No Helmet Run (Part 3)

What started as a desire to complete another of the game's in-game challenges led me to a challenge of my own, completing the entire Dr. Wily's castle without my helmet.

One of the things you can buy in the in-game store is a book of hairstyles, which removes Mega Man's helmet, letting his hair flow freely like in the Mega Man 2 title screen, and also making the game harder by doubling the damage you suffer from enemies.

I'm at the last stage now and I cannot get past Dr. Wily's last form. I don't have any E or M tanks and if I go to the store I'd have to do the 3 stages of the last level over again.

I'd like to see you do it with no E tanks.

Nice! For some reason Tornado man usually uses up more plug balls for me. I'll be sure to look into conserving them.

Yes, as MetalSlasher86 said, I had to beat the game first. The challenge registered once I cleared the game. So i'm happy again! =)

wily 3 might die a shot or 2 of pball quicker if you put bees into the air while he's teleporting. if he's high, they'll do some damage. if low, just switch weapons and carry on, dont even wait for them to hit

You have to finish the game in order for it to register, but you can actually complete the challenge with any 4 stages.
