You can thank the unions for this. I was an IBEW member working for Verizon and they've done everything they can to ruin Verizon and make them unable to compete. The only thing saving Verizon is that their wireless side is non-union for the most part. Tell me any industry in which the union hasn't hurt or ruined them in comparison to their non union counterparts.

All too true! The Unions have really dropped the ball on this one. I don't blame them for any of this. I am a Union man myself. But in this downturn there is not one bit of grass-roots activism bringing the workers together under any cause that will help out.
