@codethreeproductions Yeah but still E! fpcused more on the paramedical part and I'm sure there were those who were probably more interested in the firefighting and rescues then the main topic E! was focused on.

@MIKECNW Emergency dealed with all aspects of the reforming fire service, from rescueing people, to CPR, and to putting water on the fire. It did a little bit of everything, and therefor, was a little bit more popular and hard to compete with.
Plus, Emergency! came first in 1971, so it had more of a fanbase.

Groovy music man!

In Chile, Firehouse in Latin 0Spanish translation is named "Unidad de Rescate" (Rescue United)

Funny, I grew up in the 70's and honestly don't have any recollection of this show. Was it only on for a short time? Whatever, looks like it was probably a great show like most of that era.

I agree more older TV Shows need to be released on DVD
-
Ironicly,"FIREHOUSE" really wasn't much diffrent from ABC's "CODE RED"
series in 1981.
-
Too bad this didn't succeed.
Emergency was more of a paramedical series so this should of pulled through.
How come it didn't?

Richard Jaeckel later played Lt. Quirk in "Spenser: For Hire."
RIP, Lt. Quirk.

CBS Television Distribution has syndication/broadcast rights to the series.
Needs to be released on DVD right alongside EMERGENCY!
