@premierrules Can you actually point out specific things of the performances though (I mean Davis and Cousins, I agree on Urmanov and Candelero). If you are saying his performance should/could be placed above Davis I am fine that is your opinion, I am just curious why you think that is all, since I dont see what it possibly could have been. Maybe you would point out something I didnt notice or consider before. To be honest I would have placed Scott 2nd over Elvis in the short

@grafgirl27 I was actually in the audience for both Short & Long programmes that year with it being in Birmingham and I was a student at the time in Wolverhampton. I think we must just agree to differ here. There was very little to choose between them in my opinion. My only argument really was that Candeloro and Urmanov placed above him, more so than Davis.

@premierrules did you even see Scott Davis's performances. I am sorry but I cant for the life of me see how anyone could rationally argue this was better. Atleast tell me why you would have this ahead.

@grafgirl27 The late great Carlo Fassi said that Cousins should have got 3rd after the Short and I happen to agree with him. Would have made no difference after the Free though as Stephen did not replicate his fantastic skate from Europeans 1995. We are all entitled to our opinion. Maybe I was nationally biased.

@premierrules No way did he deserve to beat Scott Davis in the short. Davis had far better spins and footwork, and did the same jumps as well or better. 4th maybe.

@premierrules I didn't understand it either when I saw it on TV. Urmanov and Candeloro had mistakes, yet Cousins was placed behind them. And Cousins made no mistakes in the SP. Really unexcusable.

I saw this live in Birmingham and was outraged at his marks, In my opinion, he should have placed 3rd after the short, behind Eldredge and Stoijko. Disgraceful marking. Ok, his free was not great, unlike Euroepans 95 but this Short was excellent.
