Elisa - The Open Media Center - HQ overview

Running Elisa 0.5.26 on Ubuntu 8.10. It a pretty decent media center. Controls are basic and intuitive. I had no problems adding any media and everything played smoothly. This would be great for setting up on a separate computer or something that was hooked up to your TV. Overall a very good, simple to use media center.

Ubuntu users, you need to set up your repositories or you won't get the latest version and the plugins won't work.

Add this line to you sources:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/elisa-developers/ubuntu intrepid main

I ignored the errors. Then open a terminal and type "sudo apt-get update" then "sudo apt-get install elisa". Finally do a system update and install the new packages. Took me about 10 minutes to install everything.

how's hardware compatibility? I have a wintv 1600 and it doesn't seem to be supported by most linux distros due to the fact it's so new. But i have a 713x analog card also and no one supports the radio or the alternate inputs on it... you get the idea.
