President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo met with various Arab companies that are interested in doing businesses in the Philippines on her second day of visit to Jeddah.

The chief executive met with Sheikh Mohammed Abdulqader Al Fadel, Chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and currently chairman of Alfadel Group. Bin Marie Mahfouz group chairman and vice chairman of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Mohammed Abdallah Abbas Sharbatly, chairman of Sharbatly Company, the largest individual importer and distributor of fresh fruits in the Middle East.

In attendance during the event were Trade Secretary Peter Favila, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo, Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde, Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman, Labor Secretary Marianito Roque, Pampanga 4th District Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc, Ambassador Antonio Villamor, Deputy House Speaker Amelita Villaroza and Quezon 3rd District Congressman Danilo Suarez
