Disaster Mitigation: Surveying and Spatial Information Systems (SSIS) Research

Associate Professor Linlin Ge talks with Dr Craig Roberts about his latest research to using satellite and sensing technology to ensure that emergency teams can prioritise their responses and get help to where it's needed most.

Emergency response teams react as quickly as possible, but they need accurate, up-to-date information. Using especially developed algorithms, Associate Professor Ge's group is able to rapidly process imagery data from satellites to alert emergency managers to where they need to send response teams.
