And excellent job on the rifle design guys @ MagPul. Once again you are standing the market on it's ear with out of box thinking and not part cloning.
.223 and .556 are not the same. They use the same projectile, but case wall thickness (of the brass) is different. The 5.56 is a thicker wall. This allows it to handle higher pressures-also creates higher pressures with the same powder charge as .223 case. So, you can fire a .223 in a 5.56 rifle, it is not advisable to fire a 5.56 in a .223 marked rifle. A 5.56 rifle has a stronger chamber too. 5.56 round + .223 rifle = KB Stop listening to the guy at the WalMart counter for your gun info.
Will the Masada have some of the same problems as the M-16 assualt weapons when firing steel cased rounds (Shell deflector being damaged, extractor being damaged and a whole load of problems) or will it be as tough as an AK-47 can some please answer this question.
its polymer so steel cased ammo should be fine on the exterior of the rifle it should be able to handle dirt pretty good just look at the pmag but NOTHING will EVER be as strong as an AK sorry for the late response but no one answered
