Commercial net fishing of Western Australian Salmon in Hamelin Bay, Western Australia - Western Australian Salmon are a different species to the 'true' pink-fleshed Atlantic Salmon and there is no commercial market for them as a table fish due to their poor eating quality (when not fresh). These will be presumably canned for cat food or similar.
Some oppose the commercial fishing of WA Salmon and would prefer this great sport-fish to be left for recreational fishing only and thus to continue on their spawning run north up the coast.
good bag of fish mate, we do the same on the east coast for mullet and tailor but we have zip off bags where we can break the bag in to smaller lots eg - half what you have. makes a lot easier to handle.

This is the most time honored method of harvesting this valuable renewable resource. If you cant catch a salmon on a rod you are a poor excuse for a fisherman. Enjoy watching the professionals and if you are polite they may give you some tips, or even a fish to take home.
