First Oxer Course!

A course from my last lesson with my first oxer!

The reason she refused at the first jump of the outside line was because a baby horse ran out between the first and the second jump. Sometimes when we ride, 2 mares and their foals are loose in the arena. They're usually no problem because they're shy and keep away, but one was obviously a little friendly and high strung that day. The second time our stride was a little long because I kicked her to go over it so she wouldn't refuse again, but I think we did alright : )

I don't want this to come off mean..but isn't it dangerous to have other horses in the ring when you're riding? what if something happens?? idk that's just my opinion. great riding though! your horse is beautiful!

@jch12341 Don't worry, I totally understand where you're coming from! We generally never have loose horses in the arena when we're doing lessons, but the mother and baby were turned loose in the arena for some reason on this day, and they really just hung around the edge of the arena.

good job! who cares if you got the stride a little off?? you got over it and the only thing you can do is make it better!!
